Open Heritage Day 2015

Germany’s biggest and most popular heritage event the Heritage Day- in Berlin called “Day of the open Monument” is taking place on the 13th September and is free of charge.

It offers the chance to visit historical landmarks that are either not usually open to the public, or would normally charge an entrance fee to visitors.

Curators of monuments, archeologists, and preservationists lead tours through historical and remarkable housing complexes, former industrial facilities, schools, and municipal baths.

Numerous museums, palaces, and monuments also invite visitors to take tours through their heritage protected buildings. The theme for 2015 is dedicated to handicraft, technology and industries

Various monuments all over Berlin are open to visitors – the programme is exceptionally large.
