Craft Beer Bars In Berlin

Beer is popular wherever you go, with hundreds of different types spanning ales, lagers, stouts and much more, the possibilities are endless and its near impossible to know what to try and where to try it.

Berlin has an old brewing tradition. Two centuries ago, Berlin had about 700 breweries and Prussian “Soldier King” Friedrich Wilhelm I even let his son become a brewer. That son was later known as Friedrich der Große – Frederick the Great.

Over the past 10 years the number of microbreweries in Germany has tripled from 300 to over 900 and in Berlin, the capital of Germany and the craft beer revolution, around a dozen  microbreweries and brewpubs have popped up over that same time period.

Today only two big, industrial-strength breweries remain in Berlin, brewing several great tasting beers at the Berliner-Kindl-Schultheiss-Brauerei: Schultheiss, Berliner Kindl, Berliner Pilsner, Radeberger Pilsener and the independent Berliner Bürgerbräu brewery.

Like the city itself, the new face of Berlin Beer is exciting and varied, different and unique.

Many microbreweries around Berlin have connecting bars where you can consume their products, which are made only meters away.
