Just a few more weeks until the Berlinale, which is arguably one of the most exciting film festivals in the world! Here at Citystay Hostel, we believe in making sure that our visitors are informed and up-to-date regarding some of the most exciting and interesting Berlin-related events. The Berlinale, formally known as the Berlin International Film Festival (or Internationele Filmfestspeile Berlin in German), takes place every Februrary since 1978. It was founded in West Berlin in 1951, and since then it has been the leading film festivals for filmmakers and film fanatics from all over the world. Aside from the film screenings, the program also includes forums, shorts, retrospective, and much more.

Getting tickets to the Berlinale would be a challenge and can be quite pricey, but you can get a peek at some of your favorite celebrities walking the red carpet by heading over to the Berlinale Palast near Potsdamer Platz, which is also just a short u-bahn and bus ride (100/200) from the Citystay hostel!
